100 Select Leader Schools Launch Bridges' and Peterson's eGuidanceCenterTM Initiative

High Schools across the U.S. include parents in teen's preparation for post-secondary life.

February 11, 2002

KELOWNA, B.C. -- Bridges.com Inc. (TSE: BIT) - A leading provider of career and educational planning solutions -- is pleased to announce the successful launch of Bridges' and Peterson's eGuidanceCenter, with its initial roll out to 100 select "Leader Schools" in the United States. Peterson's is part of the Thomson Corporation and has been North America's most trusted source of post-secondary educational information for more than three decades.

This new eGuidanceCenter initiative will see Bridges target the 18,000+ high schools across the United States. Beginning with its 40% market share of high schools in North America, Bridges will offer this new product to existing subscribers starting February 18. Current Bridges' clients who are subscribers to the company's main products, CX Online and eChoices, will add the eGuidanceCenter for an additional price of $1,200 US per year. Schools not subscribing to Bridges' main products will pay $2,690 US per year for the eGuidanceCenter, which includes CX Online and eChoices.

This new program aligns directly with the Bush administration's "No Child Left Behind" Act, signed by the President on January 8, which gives parents more choices and control about the kind of education their children receive and what educational institution they attend. The purpose of the eGuidanceCenter is to help schools become more successful with their career and educational development programs, to directly involve parents in their children's educational future, and to excite students by helping them plan their future and the courses they will be taking.

"Each of these Leader Schools excels at career development, and by using the eGuidanceCenter, will be able to provide the parent community of their school with access to North America's best career and educational planning resource," says Doug Manning, Chief Executive Officer and President of Bridges. "Continual feedback from these Leader Schools will assist our companies in ensuring the eGuidanceCenter is the tool of choice for career educators and guidance counsellors. Leader Schools will also provide local leadership for the effective use of the eGuidanceCenter to other high schools and will be available as a reference for new eGuidanceCenter clients. Leader School parents will be provided with age-appropriate, self-directed activities, developed by counsellors, that guide a young person's use of the eGuidanceCenter.

"Bridges' eGuidanceCenter project with Peterson's is the first resource designed to connect families, educators and students together in preparing a young person for their first career/life transition - the movement from high school to some form of post-secondary pursuit," says Manning. "These 100 Leader Schools will pioneer the integration of parents into the career and educational planning process in the United States."

"We are very pleased to collaborate with Bridges on this exciting venture, the first product of its kind that gives parents access to the best college and career planning resources available," says Mary Gatsch, Executive Vice President of Peterson's, part of the Thomson Corporation. "Whether families are preparing their children for higher education -- searching for a college, researching scholarships, or studying for a test -- or the working world, the eGuidanceCenter is an integral part of their decision-making process. I applaud the 100 Leader Schools for their support in partnering with us to make this happen."
