ENROLLED IN SCHOOL

Are you enrolled in an eligible institution on at least a half-time basis?
If yes, you may be eligible for an in-school deferment, please contact your lender for information.

Are you enrolled in a graduate fellowship program?
If yes, you may be eligible for an education related deferment. You will need to complete a deferment
form and send completed forms to the lender or servicer of your loan(s).

Are you attending a rehabilitation-training program?
If you are in a rehabilitation training program that is licensed, approved, certified, or otherwise recognized
as providing rehabilitation training to qualified individuals by a state agency responsible for vocational
rehabilitation, drug abuse treatment, mental health services, or alcohol treatment programs, or by the
Department of Veterans Affairs, you may be eligible for an education related deferment. You will need to
complete a deferment form and send completed forms to the lender or servicer of your loan(s).

Are you participating in an internship or residency program?
The Stafford loan that you are seeking to have deferred must have been disbursed prior to July 1, 1993;
PLUS loan borrowers must have been disbursed before August 15, 1983.

Additionally eligibility requirements are that the internship or residency program is a supervised training
program that requires the completion of at least a bachelor's degree before acceptance into the program.
If you meet these requirements, you may be eligible for an education related deferment. You will need to
complete a deferment form and send completed forms to the lender or servicer of your loan(s).
