Returning in February 2006
Presented by Richard Driscoll, Ph.D.
High test anxiety impairs memory and reasoning, producing inaccurate test results. A promising protocol lowers anxiety and produces test gains including a 7 percentile gain on the Tennessee state comprehensive exams.
School counselors and psychologists will learn to conduct a highly cost-effective test anxiety program taking two staff hours per anxious student, and to assess the benefits.
Participants will be able to:
- Identify and engage test anxious students.
- Set up and complete a successful test anxiety program in their schools using an anxiety reduction training protocol on CD.
- Assess the benefits of a test anxiety reduction program.
Participants will receive:
- Quick Start Guide
- Westside Test Anxiety Scale (to screen for test anxiety)
- Parental Information Form
- Membership in the American Test Anxieties Association, amtaa.org
- A Test Anxiety Reduction Protocol on CD
- CEU Credits: 0.15 (additional fees may apply)
