Bridges Signs Deal With Vermont Agency
January 31, 2002 Kelowna, BC - Bridges.com Inc. (TSE: BIT), A leading provider of career and educational planning solutions, announced today that it has signed a three-year deal worth US $175,000 with the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) to provide every Vermont student in Grades 8 to 12 with access to Bridges' CX Online -- a career exploration and planning tool. Over 61,500 students registered at Vermont public and private schools will now have access to CX Online. Home schoolers will also have access to the product. In addition, VSAC will make CX Online available to all adult employment and training centres in the state. "We're pleased to be able to provide Vermont students with CX Online," says Doug Manning, Chief Executive Officer and President of Bridges. "This is our first deal where we have gone beyond the public school market to include every single student in a state, whether they are in private schools or being home schooled. All students in Vermont will now be getting access to CX Online. This opportunity once again illustrates the adaptability of Bridges' products and their appeal and application to organizations and all age groups outside of the K to 12 market." "Providing career planning resources is critical to helping students prepare adequately for their future beyond high school. When VSAC set out to make these resources available to all Vermont middle and high school students, we chose CX Online, a Bridges.com product, as the best tool available to meet our goal. Our contract will provide CX Online at 100 schools and agencies throughout Vermont, and will enable those not served by those sites to access CX Online directly through the VSAC Web site. We are thrilled at the prospect of broadening access to career planning among Vermont students, and look forward to seeing the positive results," said Don Vickers, President, Vermont Student Assistance Corp About CX Online CX Online excites students about their future with magazine-style daily news articles on careers, recreation, employment and education options, creating a foundation for career exploration and planning via the Internet.
