Bridges Among Fastest-Growing Tech Companies in North America

October 16, 2002

KELOWNA, B.C. Bridges.com Inc. today announced that it ranked Number 242 on the 2002 Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500, a list of the 500 fastest-growing technology companies in North America. Rankings are based on five-year percentage revenue growth from 1997 to 2001. Bridges grew over 1,661 per cent during this period, with annual revenues at $19,524,945 in fiscal year 2001, up from $1,109,160 in fiscal year 1997.

This is the third consecutive year that Bridges has been on the Fast 500 list. Ten per cent of the Fast 500 companies this year are from Canada.

"Because the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 measures sustained revenue growth over five years, being one of the 500 fastest-growing technology companies in North America is an impressive accomplishment," said Mark A. Evans, managing director, Deloitte & Touche Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group. "We are proud to honour Bridges.com as a Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 winner."

The Fast 500 list is compiled from three sources: winners of Deloitte & Touche's 20 regional North American Fast 50 programs, nominations submitted directly to the Fast 500, and public company database research. To qualify for the Fast 500, entrants must have had 1997 revenues of at least US$50,000 and CAD$75,000 for United States and Canada, respectively, must be public or private companies headquartered in North America, and be "technology companies" defined as companies that own proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues or devote a high percentage of effort to research and development of technology.

In addition to ranking on the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500, Bridges.com ranked 22nd on the Deloitte & Touche Canadian Technology Fast 50, which is a ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology firms in Canada.
