BRIDGES AND LANDMARK TO HOLD GIANT GARAGE SALE
FOR CHARITY
For immediate release August 5, 2004 Kelowna, B.C - Bridges Transitions Inc. ("the Company") (TSX: BIT) a leading provider of products and services used by schools, universities and agencies to help people achieve education and career success -- and Landmark Technology Centre - the next step in the creation of a world class business district in Kelowna's Silicon Vineyard -- are pleased to announce a GIANT charity garage sale with all proceeds to go to Kelowna's Run for the Cure and Kelowna General Hospital Foundation's 180 Degrees. On Saturday, August 7 from 10am until 2pm, members of the public can come to the garage sale at the Landmark Centre parking lot to pick up some great deals on office furniture and older-model computer equipment. "Bridges has moved to the Landmark Technology Centre II building and we have all new office furniture and computers here," explains Doug Manning, Bridges' President. "We had quite a bit of excess inventory from our old location and thought that holding the garage sale and donating all proceeds to charity would be a great way to give back to the community as well as launching our own internal fundraising efforts for Run for the Cure." Every year Bridges' employees vote on a charity to work with, and this year (once again) it is Kelowna's Run for the Cure. Besides donating all the items in the garage sale, Bridges has also pledged to match the sale day proceeds dollar-for-dollar (to a maximum of $7,500) and will add that amount to the final total going to Kelowna's Run for the Cure. The Landmark Technology Centre has also generously decided to donate to charity. "Landmark Centre has also pledged to match the sale day proceeds dollar-for-dollar (to a maximum of $7,500) and will donate this money to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation's 180 degrees," says Al Stober of Landmark Centre. "We are pleased to be able to provide our location as the backdrop for this giant garage sale and hope the sale breaks all kinds of records for what could be the biggest garage sale in Kelowna this year!" For sale on Saturday are hundreds of items, including: desks, filing cabinets, tables, bookcases, chairs, halogen lamps, corkboards, older-model CPU towers, monitors, keyboards, mice, computer speaker sets, monitor stands, desk lamps and more! All sales are CASH ONLY and everything is being sold "As is, Where is." There are no expressed warranties and everything is a final sale. Shoppers need to buy their item and take it home the same day. ABSOLUTELY NO EARLY BIRDS, the sale will not start until 10am. Thanks goes to Points West Moving Company, who have offered their moving services to Bridges free of charge for this event (to move all the office furniture and computers from the old location to the new location).
