Bridges Introduces New Professional Services Division

For immediate release September 3, 2004

Kelowna, B.C - Bridges Transitions Inc. ("Bridges" or "the Company") (TSX: BIT), a leading provider of products and services used by schools, universities and agencies to help people achieve education and career success, is pleased to announce the establishment of a new division within the Company. The Professional Services division will focus on expanding the professional expertise of counselors, career educators and other career specialists. The division will provide Bridges with new sources of revenue and new marketing opportunities through a variety of new training and consultative services, each targeted at expanding the effectiveness of career professionals.

The new division will be led by Doug Manning, president of the Company. Over 25 contract trainers located across North America will provide an expanded set of training services. These trainers will provide fee-based product training and curricular workshops to thousands of educators, including both Bridges subscribers and non-subscribers. In addition, states, provinces and districts will be able to access fee-based consultative services that support the design, implementation and/or evaluation of a comprehensive student planning/guidance program.

"In the 21st century, all young people must learn to plan and self-manage the achievement of meaningful future goals. We have no cultural or educational traditions for teaching these vital life skills to students," said Manning. "Counselors and career professionals are well positioned to teach these skills to students, if provided with engaging lesson plans, quality teacher training and up-to-date consultative services."

CEO John Simmons sees the new division as a key driver of corporate growth: "Bridges is building on its solid foundation of existing subscribers," said Simmons. "The Professional Services division offers a compelling value proposition to our customers, providing opportunities that make their programs more effective. This division, combined with other initiatives in test preparation and our newly integrated planning products, offers the Company several new sources of revenue for 2005."

Revenue for the Professional Services division will come from three sources. The majority of initial revenue will be generated by training fees paid for product and curricular training. Fees will also be collected for instructor-led training provided through telephones and the Internet. Program development consultation fees will also make up a portion of Professional Services revenue.

"This new initiative integrates well with our American School Counselor Association (ASCA) partnership," said Manning. "Our suite of professional services will enable more counselors to develop programs consistent with the ASCA National Model. Our ASCA partnership, combined with the thousands of existing Bridges customers, provides an excellent launching pad for this new corporate division."
