Bridges Reports 1996 Second Quarter Results July 15 1996 KELOWNA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Canada - July 15, 1996 - The Bridges Initiatives Inc. (ASE:BIT), one of Canada's foremost providers of career and life skills information via the World Wide Web, today announced revenues for the second quarter ended May 31,1996 of $69,942. Net loss for the quarter was $274,795 or (0.04) cents per share. Bridges Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Doug Manning said, "This was a good quarter for Bridges. Although operating in a loss position, we achieved important strategic progress through the quarter in a number of key areas. We completed the signing of our second major Canadian distribution partner, McGraw-Hill Ryerson. We saw an 81% increase in our education client base and we moved closer to the formal launch of Career Explorer Online in the United States." "Despite everything we have accomplished, it's important to recognize that in our current stage of development it is essential that we implement our technology and marketing strategies. Doing so quickly and skillfully will allow us to build momentum through the third quarter. Overall, I remain pleased with the pace of development at Bridges."

Outlook The third quarter of 1996 will see the Company expand its sales and marketing efforts, specifically targeting the U.S. education market. The summer months will be spent actively pursuing U.S. distribution partners and preparing for the launch of Career Explorer '96 in both Canada and the United States.
