North America's Leading Provider of On-Line Career Information Services Signs Agreement with Microsoft Corporation for Marketing Initiative on MSN.CA

February 1, 2000

Kelowna, BC - Bridges.com Inc. (CDNX: BIT) today announced that Microsoft Corp. will distribute the company's weekly e*zine to Canadian users of Microsoft's WebCourier HTML newsletter distribution service.

Bridges.com is North America's leading provider of online career and educational services to middle and secondary schools. By the end of December the service was available to more than 2.3 million students at 4,742 schools.

The agreement with Microsoft is part of Bridges.com's strategy to broaden its business focus to the consumer market.

Starting March 7, 2000, Canadian users of MSN.CA's Web-based Hotmail e-mail service can elect to receive the weekly Bridges.com e*zine featuring updates on the latest developments in emerging careers, employment and online education. Bridges.com will provide this content free to Hotmail users. In return, Bridges.com will have promotional banners each month to use on the Hotmail and MSN.CA Web sites for the 12-month contract term. These banners will be used to promote awareness of the Bridges.com brand.

Bridges.com CEO and President, Doug Manning, said an agreement with a company of Microsoft's stature is a significant event for Bridges.com. "Microsoft's process for choosing partners for this marketing initiative is extremely thorough, and we are fortunate to have been selected.

"This is our first venture designed to promote awareness of Bridges.com career and education services beyond the middle and secondary school market. Our lively, up-to-date career content, which attracted over 40 million page views on our subscription services in 1999, should draw many users to our e*zine on Hotmail and subsequently to our Bridges.com Web site."

To complement the WebCourier initiative, Bridges.com will enhance its Web site to include a variety of free and subscription-based online career resources including Career Pro News, a daily e-mail news publication for educators and career professionals, and Career Advantage, a career planning training tool for home users. The new Bridges.com site will also feature weekly examples of innovative articles and features produced by the Bridges.com staff.

The number of schools accessing Bridges.com's services has more than doubled in the past 12 months from 2,305 in December 1998 to 4,742 in December 1999. The company's community of individual planners, featuring over 2.3 million students, recorded 41 million page views on Bridges.com tools in 1999.

The company also publishes 14 online daily career news services, including customized services in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Manitoba. Bridges.com's resources keep people informed about emerging career opportunities, and enable them to take charge of achieving the future they desire. Bridges.com trades on the Canadian Venture Exchange as BIT and received conditional approval in December of 1999 to list on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
