Northwestern University and Bridges.com Sign Agreement

July 23, 2001

KELOWNA, BC -- Bridges.com Inc. (TSE:BIT), North America's leading provider of career and educational planning solutions, and the Center for Talent Development at Northwestern University in Illinois have signed an agreement to provide gifted students in the Midwest with online access to career- and life-planning services.

The recently signed deal enables the Center for Talent Development to promote Bridges' Career Advantage online service to 27,000 gifted students in Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Indiana, and Wisconsin for a discounted price in 2002.

"We are really pleased to be able to provide the students in our Midwest Talent Search (MTS) with Bridges' Career Advantage online subscription," says Paula Olszewski-Kubilius, Director of the Center for Talent Development at Northwestern University. "These kids are bright and gifted and they're often thinking about careers a lot earlier than others their age, so now they'll get an opportunity to do some earlier career exploration that they don't normally get in school."

Career Advantage helps people establish a clear direction for their future. Subscribing students have access to skills and interests assessments, can complete an online career planning course, browse an extensive online career library, and stay up to date each day on the "hottest and coolest" emerging job opportunities. They can look at daily labour market research, as well as recreation and career information articles that include on-the-job interviews.

Doug Manning, Chief Executive Officer and President of Bridges, says this agreement is another important step in Bridges' three-year plan to customize its products and move them into new areas of the e-learning market.

"Being able to offer our products and services to talented Midwest students in Grades 6, 7, 8 and 9 is exciting for us," explains Manning. "Career Advantage will help them to develop a sense of purpose for their future, and subsequently to help them figure out which courses to take throughout high school and which career options might be appropriate for them. Then, our services could also help these students -- as they get older -- to apply online to colleges and universities, and to apply for financial aid through our partner, Xap.com. Potentially, our services could help these students for the next nine or 10 years."

The Center for Talent Development, based at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, has been providing leadership in the area of gifted education to the Midwest since 1981. The centre has provided special educational opportunities for more than 337,000 6th-, 7th-, 8th- and 9th-grade students through its talent searches, Saturday and summer programs, and distance learning courses. CTD conducts the Midwest Talent Search annually, along with other university centres that test over 180,000 students each year across the United States. They will be offering the Career Advantage online subscription to 27,000 kids in a mail-out in the fall.
