Who can enter the contest?
With the exception of educators, anyone is eligible to enter the contest. However, anyone under the age of 18 will be required to complete a guardian consent form in order to qualify. This form must be e-mailed to video@bridges.com or faxed to 888-349-3437 before December 4, 2009, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
The contest is also closed to residents of Quebec, and employees of Xap and Bridges Transitions and their immediate family members.
How old do I have to be to enter?
You must be at least 13 years of age to enter the contest. If you are under the age of 18, you will also be required to complete a guardian consent form, which must be e-mailed to video@bridges.com or faxed to 888-349-3437 before December 4, 2009, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
How do I enter the contest?
To enter the contest, you must create an original video no longer than three minutes in length, related to the theme of sharing what you've learned from your past in order to help others reach their goals.
Entrants have until Friday, December 4, 2009, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time to:
• Upload their video to a video hosting site such as YouTube or SchoolTube, etc.
• Complete the online submission form.
• E-mail or fax us a completed copyright release form.
• If under the age of 18, entrants must also e-mail or fax us a completed guardian consent form.
What type of video can I submit?
Your video submission must not be over three minutes in length, and it must be related to the topic of sharing what you've learned from your past in order to help others reach their goals.
You can use any video recording equipment at your disposal, including but not limited to video cameras, digital cameras, camera phones or animation programs.
Is there anything I can't put in my video?
Your video must be all your own material. That includes any musical tracks, content, graphics, etc.
As these videos will be posted online for public viewing, for your own protection we insist that you do not mention your full name or provide any identifying information.
Your video must be appropriate for student viewing. Therefore, swearing, violence, sexual content or hateful remarks will result in elimination.
Does my video have to be about your products?
No, this is not a product-related contest.
What will happen to my video?
All videos will become property of Bridges Transitions Inc. and Xap Corporation, and will be promoted online and available for viewing at education and career conferences. Therefore, all entrants are required to complete the copyright consent form and e-mail it to video@bridges.com or fax it to 888-349-3437 before December 4, 2009, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.

Can I enter as part of a team?
Yes, teams are eligible to enter. However specific rules apply to teams:
-A maximum number of five people can be on a team.
-Educators cannot qualify as team members.
-One student must be designated as the team representative.
-The video producer who will represent the team must complete the online submission form, and all creators must sign the copyright release form. Any entrants under the age of 18 must also e-mail or fax us a completed copy of the guardian consent form.
-Cash prizes will be divided evenly among all team members.
What if I need help?
You may download the self-directed student activity for info on how to get started. You should also check out the tips and tricks for creating a video.
If you require additional assistance uploading your video to the web, all video hosting websites provide their own help section with instructions on how to upload it to the site.
Why do I need my parents' permission?
Since winning videos will be posted online and shown at conferences, we need guardian consent for legal reasons if you're under the age of majority (under age 18).
What can I win?
The following cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place:
$2,500 for first place
$1,500 for second place
$1,000 for third place
How is the winner chosen?
A panel of judges will select the group of finalists, based on the following criteria:
Creativity of submission (25%)
Originality of submission (25%)
Relevance of submission, fitting with the theme (50%)
Finalists will be notified on or around January 4, 2010, and their videos will be posted online at www.bridges.com/video.
Between January 4 and January 25, 2010, the public will be invited to vote for their favorite video by visiting www.bridges.com/video. Videos that receive the highest number of votes will be awarded prizes for first, second and third place.
If I win, how do I get my prize?
A Bridges representative will e-mail or phone you to give you the good news. The prize will be sent to the representative or his/her guardian, if under age 18.
How can I find out who won?
Winners will be announced January 25, 2010 at www.bridges.com/video.
Are all videos voted on?
No, only those selected as finalists by our panel of judges will be posted online and made available for public voting.
Who can vote?
Voting is open to all U.S. and Canadian residents.
Where do I vote?
Between January 4 and January 15, 2010, you can cast your vote by visiting www.bridges.com/video and navigating to the Vote page.
When can I vote?
You can vote any time between January 4 and January 15, 2010, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
When do I find out if I won?
A Bridges representative will contact winners by phone or e-mail on January 19, 2010.
