What's New

As of Fall 2009:

  • Increased portfolio storage
Help students make the most of their portfolios. We've increased the storage size of their portfolios so they can store more information for more personalized plans.
  • Portfolio passwords
To further tighten the security of our site and to reduce the number of typos in student passwords, we now ask for passwords to be entered twice when creating a portfolio.
  • School-wide Portfolio Creation
There is now a tool to help professionals create multiple portfolios for an entire school if they do not subscribe to the Guidance Central Custom Portfolio Services. Professionals can upload customized data files using the Create Student Portfolios feature in the Reviewer section of the Professional Tools.
  • Students can track graduation progress
Students can monitor their own progress as they move closer to graduation, increasing their motivation and making them more accountable for their future. They can track their enrolled and completed credits at a glance by looking in the Your Plans section of the portfolio under the heading Your School Course Plans.
  • Do What You Are results
If your school also subscribes to Do What You Are, the assessment results will be stored in the student portfolios under Your Personality Type & Learning Style.
  • Learning Style Inventory results
If your school also subscribes to the Learning Style Inventory, the assessment results will be stored in the student portfolios under Your Personality Type & Learning Style.
  • New Career Information
Choices Planner adds new careers each year in order to reflect the changing world of work. This information relies on the latest verifiable sources of information, particularly those developed by the U.S. Department of Labor.

We've also updated our career data in response to the latest information from O*NET and other sources.

As of Spring 2009:

  • Improved accessibility
We've enhanced Choices Planner so it's easy to use with assistive technologies. Although it's impossible to test every assistive technology product, the standards and policies we used in these enhancements make Choices Planner compatible with most products.
  • Professional Tools
Professionals can now batch print course plans to save time.
